Electronic health records play a vital role in ensuring that both clinicians and patients have access to accurate, relevant health information at all times, yet the design and implementation of EHR systems brings its own challenges. Newer technologies like AI and FHIR are presenting opportunities to rethink how to optimize the EHR. In this conversation, attendees will hear from Frank Naeymi-Rad, founder of Intelligent Medical Objects, Inc., a terminology platform that is now used by some 85% of all EHRs, and Mark Braunstein, world-renowned health informatics expert at Georgia Tech. Moderated by Cornell’s Chief Global Information Officer, Curtis Cole, this session will provide new insights into the role of AI, FHIR, and structured terminology in EHRs and clinical informatics.
